Talking Points: Introducing PERKS to Customers
How to Ask If a Customer Is a Member
- “Are you a PERKS member with us yet?”
If they say no or aren’t sure:
- “It’s our free loyalty program—super easy to join. You earn points every time you shop, and those points turn into discounts and gift cards.”
If They’re Already a Member
- “Great! What’s the email you used to sign up? I’ll attach it to your sale so you get your points.”
If their email isn’t found:
- “You might be signed up with a different email—want to try another one?”
If They’re Not a Member (Yet!)
“Would you like to join? You’ll earn 1 point for every $1 you spend, plus extra points for bringing your own bag, signing up for our emails, or referring a friend.”
“The best part? Most of the shops here participate—so you’re earning while you shop everywhere.”
“And it’s quick—we just need your email and name. You’ll get a welcome email where you can activate your account and track your rewards.”
Key Benefits to Mention
- “Get rewarded for shopping—gift cards, discounts, birthday rewards, and more.”
- “Most merchants here participate, so your points add up fast.”
- “Bring your own bag and get rewarded. We love sustainability.”
- “Refer a friend and get 600 points when they spend $25.”
- “Get 5% off with just 200 points—or save up for bigger rewards.”
If the Customer Declines
- “No problem at all—just let us know anytime if you change your mind. It’s a great way to support local makers and earn rewards while you shop.”
